MMC1000S3.20
Gigabit Ethernet SNMP Managed Media Converter 1000Base-T to WDM (SC, 1310nm TX), LFP, 20Km
This product has been discontinued by Alloy.
The MMC1000S3.20 Gigabit Ethernet SNMP Managed Media Converter, an MMC1000 Series model, has a 10/100/1000Mbps RJ-45 and a WDM SC port for Gigabit singlemode/singlecore fibre 20Km links. Monitor, configure and control the device via SNMP or Telnet.
The MMC1000S3.20 SNMP Managed Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter is designed for applications requiring conversion between Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T over UTP/STP copper and 1000Base-LX carried over a WDM singlecore/singlemode fibre cable. The device's RJ-45 port supports a maximum link range of 100 metres, and the SC singlecore/singlemode fibre connector supports a maximum link range of 20 kilometres. This type of WDM Converter multiplexes both send and receive datastreams over a single core of singlemode fibre cable, with this model MMC1000S3.20 transmitting data on the 1310nm wavelength. The MMC1000S3.20 must be used with it's sister product, the MMC1000S5.20 on the other end of the link, or a comparable WDM device that can receive a datastream on 1310nm wavength and transmit on 1550nm. A WDM Converter is an ideal solution where previously installed fibre cable is being used to full cappacity, or to double the link capacity on planned fibre cable infrastructure.
The MMC1000S3.20 is a model from Alloy's MCM1000 Series of Media Converters, which includes devices for 10/100/1000Mbps RJ-45 copper to 1000Base-SX multimode fibre (with either SC or LC connectors), 10/100/1000Mbps RJ-45 copper to 1000Base-LX singlemode fibre (SC connector for 10, 30 or 50Km ranges), and 10/100/1000Mbps RJ-45 copper to Gigabit WDM singlemode/singlecore fibre (SC connector, 20Km range). All models in the MMC1000 Series operate with wirespeed packet forwarding performance, and provide an SNMP agent, web-based management and Telnet/CLI text-based management. Network administrators can logon to the Converter to monitor, configure and control the activity of each port. In addition, the Converter implements bandwidth rating management capabilities via its intelligent software. The overall network management is enhanced, and the network efficiency is also improved to accommodate and deliver high bandwidth applications. The comprehensive range of MMC1000 Series Converter features also includes RMON Counter support for port traffic monitoring, 802.3ah OAM functions, 802.1q Tagged VLAN and 'Far End Fault' mode LFP (Link Forward Propagation).
